The Baby Einstein Effect

Ever since Allison was about 9 months - she has been exposed to Baby Einstein. I'm a fan of the movies . . . they are great for 4:00 in the afternoon when I'm trying to get dinner on, and believe it or not - Allison, who is almost 3 now, still can sit and watch toys spin around. Crazy. So a couple weeks ago - I had set Allison up on her little table with some Crayola watercolor paints and a blank sheet of paper, and she proceeds to put the back end of the paint brush in her mouth, dip the brush end into the water and colors, and then with the brush still in her mouth - she starts painting. I was baffled for a moment - but then it hit me. All the little puppets on baby einstein paint with their mouths. They have no arms. She soon decided that the painting with her mouth wasn't quite as efficient as using her fingers . . . but it was so funny! I think Allison has watched Baby Da Vinci one too many times! :)

I have been thinking about investing in the Baby Einstein videos, but wasn't sure...now that I know that Wendy Jensen likes them, I know that it is definitely the best thing for my child! :)
